PyCon Uno, a Python success in Italy

Python

Just back from a weekend in Florence, where I attended the First Italian Conference on the Python Language, PyCon Uno (Uno is One in Italian). It has been a very successful event, so my congratulations to the guys at Python Italia.

Almost 190 people registered for this first conference, and I really appreciated most of the talks I’ve attended (two tracks were simultaneously going on in two different rooms). A special mention to the keynote on Technical Management of Software Development and two talks on Design Pattern, all of them by Alex Martelli.

Also the beer session on Saturday night has been a success :-D Looking forward to the next Italian Conference!

Meanwhile, anyone interested in Python may be tempted to attend EuroPython 2007, to be held in Vilnius (Lithuania) next July. If you decide to go, I could even recommend a place serving real Italian espresso in the city centre ;-)
