Sunday Morning in Ferrara

One of the things I love of my city, Ferrara, is what you find on a sunny but not too cold Sunday morning like today. Just get to the city centre and you’ll find the main square and the surrounding area quite crowded. But not a crowd in a hurry to get somewhere, nor making noise (and smell) with cars and scooter.

Sunday Morning in Ferrara

Everyone in the crowd is enjoying the sun and a little talk, or a strolling along with the children. An the peaceful invasion of vehicles consists in dozen of bicycles. In fact, it’s not at all a crowd in the usually negative meaning. It’s more the heart of the city pulsing at a pleasant, not too quick pace.

Commuting involves some risks

Train Trolley

Commuting involves some risks. Definitely. Like meeting a tourist with a don’t-look-at-it-or-you’ll-become-blind trolley. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, it was taken with my mobile phone. Well, thinking of it, maybe you are lucky I couldn’t take a better, more detailed picture!

Postcards that take their time

Last August, while on holiday in Romania, as it’s usual for me I sent quite a few postcards to friends around the world. I don’t know about the ones addressed to other countries, but several of the ones for Italy arrived just this week, among general laughter. All these late deliveries bear Oct 12th as postmark’s date, so we guess they’ve just been sitting in the corner of some post office for a few months… :-)

Far from thinking that delay a rare event, I was anyway quite surprised reading of a postcard that took 64 years to reach its addressee:-o
