Death Note

Last weekend I watched all 37 episodes of the Death Note anime…

What would you do with a book so peculiar that when you write the name of a person on it, that person dies? How would you use it? And would you use it at all? :-o

This anime comes from a popular manga, and also a few movies have been made of it. The movies where actually my first exposure to this story (at the Far East Film Festival, of course!).

A must see if you like manga or anime, or if you’ve already been intrigued by the movies… just don’t forget to keep handy a supply of apples, red ones! ;-)

FEFF - Back home

Got back home yesterday, after watching 22 movies and attending 1 panel (a meeting with directors) within 5 days, and surviving them all :-)

As usual, it has been a mixed experience with some good movies and a few very bad ones, and where half the fun is observing the wild variety of people attending…

Recommended ;-)

FEFF - Plenty of rain

Posted on April 23rd, 2008 in FEFF, Music, Movies & TV, Trips & Travel by michele

Oh yes, Monday and Tuesday we had rain. Plenty of it.

After a very late Deathfix: Die and let Live on Sunday night (the 00:15am one) we got a little sleep and found ourselves in bad weather. It has been raining hard for two days, and we were forced to have some meals at the theatre bar (convenient also for making it quick).

A couple of very good movies on Monday, Adrift in Tokyo and the action thriller The Detective. Tuesday not that good, although some nice story unfolded in Our Town, a film from South Korea featuring the distinctive hammer-action so impressive in Old Boy.

Today we started with an horror-wannabe from The Philippines, but I found it just horrible and boring so I dropped out after 30 minutes.

Lunch time now! :-)
