Shall we ever learn?

That’s what I ask myself watching the news today. And the answer I give myself is not good.

War as seen on television is almost like fiction. And it looks far, far away. Always.

Images from a visit to Mostar come vividly to mind. Shall we ever learn?

Happy Birthday, Mr Mandela!

Today Nelson Mandela, a man that has left a distinctive mark in history, turns 90. The event has been celebrated in many ways during the last weeks, and I’m happy to have attended at least one of those parties!

46664 Concert in Hyde Park

Last night, at least, the main event (or excuse ;-) ) for my being in London took place!

The 46664 Concert in Hyde Park has been organized as a charity event, to raise funds and spread awareness on the HIV issue in Africa. It was also meant to celebrate the forthcoming 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela, 20 years after the great concert in Wembley Stadium held to ask for Mandel to be set free. The man spent 27 years in prison for his political views, and 46664 was his identification number.

I have to say that to hear this man speak still takes your breath away…

What about the music? The atmosphere was great, and what can I say for example of the closing act, Queen + Paul Rodgers? They ROCK!!
